While I was reading the story I thought wow this is al right but after wards when I was thinking of everything that happened in the series and thought wow that is really stupid. Then I started talking to someone who had also just finished the series and then we ended up making fun of it for three hours.

I have to say, I totally agree with you on everything, and HELLO to whoever you were talking to above, even GIRLS do not like it (like myself) even though we are the "target audience". Only teenage chicks who have been in bad relationships and old dried up women could completely enjoy the series. Also, point out that Edward is flawless and blah but I heard someone else point it out (and once someone points it out, it makes a LOT of sense), that Edward is abusive to Bella. Not physically, of course, but emotionally. He ruins her friendship with all the normal people, ruins her friendship with Jacob, and is always underhandedly threatening her and stifling her sexuality as a female. I.e., whenever she tries to take it further than kissing, he says something along the lines of "I might not be able to control myself" or "You could get hurt/die". He also ends up estranging her from her father and mother in the fourth book when she gets turned vampire. All in all, an abusive relationship.
